Raisin Rice Pudding




Raisin Rice Pudding, creamy, homemade, simple, and flavorful, comfort food what more could we want?



  • 2 1/2 cups of whole or 2% milk
  • 1/3 cup uncooked Basmati rice
  • dash of salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 TBSP molasses or **honey
  • 1 TSP cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup raisinssociety61

To make:

  1. In medium size saucepan bring milk, rice and salt to boil
  2. Reduce heat to low > simmer until rice is cooked *20-25 mins > Stir often to prevent rice from sticking to bottom of pan
  3. Using small mixing bowl whisk egg, sugar and molasses** together until fully combined > Add half a cup of hot rice to the egg mixture a bit at a time > mix until blended well
  4. Put egg mixture back in saucepan with rice and milk > stir on low heat for 5-10 minutes until thickened. Do not let mixture come to a boil
  5. Stir in vanilla
  6. Remove from heat > stir in raisins and cinnamon
